Welcome to the home of the Anime Freshmen. Join us as we get together on our bi-weekly podcast which brings you our fresh take on the medium that is anime.
You know those conversations you have with your friends about the most random anime topics? Put that in a podcast, increase the randomness and boom! You have The Anime Freshmen!
We believe that anime is one of the best storytelling mediums and we use our platform to provide a refreshing off-the-cuff approach to engage people who are new to the genre as well as long term anime fans. On our podcast, we cover everything and anything anime related and you can even catch us having live conversations, discussing various topics and testing the knowledge of anime fans at events across the UK!
Keep It Fresh!
With the anticipated long arrival of Haikyuu coming back to our screens, we were delighted to be invited to a private screening of the film by Crunchyroll at the amazing Sony Entertainment office. 6 of us were able to be a part of this opportunity which left us talking about it on our way home. With some who had not watched the series and others awaiting its return we decided to share our thoughts (no spoilers!)
Episode #115 - Skynet Pluto
As inevitable as the proverbial tide and the main shonen character befriending a once hated enemy, Skynet makes its return to our time to once again perform sexy jutsu.
How ironic. The entry on this occasion revolves around a world in which a Europol robot detective attempts to solve a string of robot and human deaths, instead of causing them.
A world in which robots have essentially attained parity with humans, with their right to life being recognised.
Several philosophical questions are raised during our breakdown, with some chuckles thrown in the mix.
Every effort is made to keep spoilers to a minimum. (The only exception being older titles)
